Emmanuel Moses: Methodical Colors

Original works now available at Square One Gallery

Square One Gallery is excited to offer exclusive original paintings from contemporary artist Emmanuel Moses. Based in Panama, Moses's works center around precise geometric figures, utilizing carefully considered colors to create movement and depth within a two dimensional plane. Inspired by Josef Albers "The Interaction Of Color", Moses has spent the last decade dedicated to a methodical study of color theory to create static works that seem to undulate and move with each glance and observation.

"My intention is to repeat the geometric image, I seek to achieve depth and movement within the work and I help myself a lot with the colors to convey the idea. I compose them mathematically by calibrating their weight and pigmentation. - Emmanuel Moses

Emmanuel Moses has developed a practice in which he uses geometry and vivid colors to acquire depth and movement from a two dimensional plane. His artistic proposal is based on a deep and methodical study of color theory, which has led him to select hues through mathematical procedures and considerations to calibrate their weight, pigmentation, and the ways in which colors and shapes interact with the eye. In this way, he builds harmonious compositions of precise geometric figures that play with the notions of balance and symmetry.

My perspective of the world is through art, I am in constant study and research to modify my artistic discourse, inspired by exact figures and contributing to my works my artistic versatility in the trajectory of graphic design. I am inspired by the behavior of color, creating unique pieces, using symmetrical figures, the search for that final result of the work that begins in my head."  - Emmanuel Moses

Emmanuel Moses is featured in Square One Gallery's June group exhibition titled "Dopamine", on view from June 7th - July 5th. For more information, click here to discover and inquire on available works.
